Hunting Island, SC

We left FL on Sunday and drove north through Georgia and into South Carolina. We are staying right on the ocean at Hunting Island State Park.

It’s been raining a lot but we still managed to get out and check out the area. There is a lighthouse on the island and a beautiful park.

Last night we went to a little local restaurant and I had the most amazing fresh seafood lobster pot pie. It had lobster, shrimp, mushrooms and asparigus in a cream sauce with puff pastry and it might be the best seafood meal I’ve ever had or it might just be that we’ve been eating RV type meals for the last week so it was a welcome treat. I would have taken a picture of it but I was too focused on just eating it 🙂 Such a shame that John doesn’t like seafood! He really doesn’t know what he’s missing. Tomorrow we head out for Maggie Valley NC (just west of Asheville) where we’ll stay for a week. We’re looking forward to hanging out with our friends Billy and Lisa while we’re there and exploring the area.
